FRS have been shortlisted as a Finalist for the prestigious NFRC Roofing Awards that are to be held in May. Director Steven Downey said "As usual the standard of entries has been extemely high and I am delighted with our nomination! The fact that we have been shortlisted comes as deserved recognition for the efforts of all our staff and operatives here at FRS." |
JANUARY 2008 |
FRS SECURE MAJOR 4000m2 PROJECT IN BRACKNELL
FRS are delighted to have secured the refurbishment roofing package at the former Siemens Capitol Building in Bracknell against tough nationwide competition.
The existing roof which has failed will be removed and replaced with a fully adhered Protan waterproofing system (www.protan.co.uk). A new Mansafe system will also be installed enabling the end user the ability to regularly maintain the finished roof system ensuring a life expectancy in excess of 30 years.
In addition to the roof coverings we are installing 600m2 of Kingspan Micro Rib wall panel to act as a plant screen complete with necessary closure trims. |

Chatham Maritime – We have recently secured a half million pound contract with Ardmore Contractors. The project consists of two buildings totaling 4500m2 of standing seam curved aluminium roofing, complete with aluminium bullnoses, composite wall cladding, green roof areas and brise soleil details. We have recently completed Eastbourne marina with Ardmore and are looking forward to continuing our close working relationship. |

APPOINTMENT OF CONTRACTS MANAGER (Metal Division)
Following the rapid growth of our Metal Cladding Division, FRS have recruited a further Contracts Manager. Nick Smart-Jones has joined the team at FRS with a wealth of industry knowledge & experience in this field. Nick's appointment allows FRS to nurture its belief that all projects should be closely monitored and supervised from their inception through to completion. This detailed supervision of all projects ensures a timely, high quality finished project, enhancing our growing reputation as a leader within our field. |

| ANNUAL KARTING COMPETITION
Once again FRS held its annual Karting Competition at Filching Manors excellent outdoor kart track. With exceptional weather the event was destined to be a tightly fought contest. The event started with a 5 minute qualifying session, followed by two individual 20 minute Grand Prix's, with the overall standings calculated from the two combined race times. As per normal competition was fierce with many spills on and off the track - Ironically 'Safety' left the track more times than anyone else! The victor of the day was 'Hush' who completed 79 laps, closely followed by 'God' 8.5 seconds behind, with 'Trophy' in third place completing 78 laps. FRS extends its thanks to all the staff at Filching Manor Kart Track for ensuring a thoroughly successful day. |

| APPOINTMENT OF SENIOR PROJECTS MANAGER
FRS are delighted to announce the arrival of Peter Heraty who will be developing the Metal Cladding Division at FRS. He has recently joined us from a previous cladding contractor and brings with him approximately 15 years experience and an extensive knowledge of the metal cladding business. He is keen to maintain his current contact base and develop further with new and existing clients. Alongside the current Membrane and Bituminous services, FRS are now in the enviable position to offer a complete service package. |

| FRS Ltd has now secured the final phase of the prestigious Boardwalk Development at Eastbourne's Sovereign Harbour North. Having successfully completed the first two phases Director Steven Downey said 'We are obviously extremely pleased to be awarded the final phase on what is a truly unique development at the harbour'. FRS has utilised various techniques and detailing to overcome the difficult detailing which gives this development its bespoke appearance. |

| FRS celebrates its 5th Anniversary with a move from its current rented offices to a new purpose built Industrial Unit. The unit only 5 minutes from its current location gives much more office space and much needed storage facility. The move enables FRS to meet the ever growing demands from its increasing customer base. |
| JANUARY 2006 |
| FRS has been authorised to become a member of East Sussex County Council's Buy With Confidence Scheme. This initiative is run by Trading Standards whose main aim is to rid the industry of Rogue Traders who unfortunately give a bad name to the respectable companys.

The competition was fierce with many spills on and off the track - not naming any names!!! The victor of the day was Lee Oldroyd from Sign Wizard, closely followed by 'Simmo' and then 'Ghandi' in third place. Many thanks to all the staff at Filching Manor Kart Track for making the event extremely good fun and safe! |

| FRS HAS GRAND DESIGNS!
FRS Ltd has been selected as the principle roofing contractor to install a Single Ply Membrane to a very unusual roof on a project in Peckham which is appearing on the very popular Channel 4 TV series 'Grand Designs'.
FRS Ltd was selected due to its ability to provide a suitable roofing solution to any particular design detail or contour that is presented.
The specification on this project is Ecotherm Insulation and Protan Single Ply Membrane. As the project unfolds pictures of this exciting venture will appear on the website. |

| OSBORNE TO DO IT!
Following an extremely buoyant start to the new year, FRS has appointed Paul Osborne to act as Working Foreman / Contracts Supervisor on all major projects. Paul has worked for FRS since it's inception and his in depth experience knowledge of the industry were important factors to consider when creating this new role. Paul is now actively overseeing the Boardwalk Development at Eastbourne Marina. We wish him every success in his new position. |

| PLAIN SAILING FOR FRS!
FRS have been selected to carry out all roofing on a highly prestigious new build at Eastbourne Marina. The project known as the 'Boardwalk' will consist of 6 Apartment Blocks totaling almost 4000m2. The specification to be used on the main roofing is KeyBemo Standing Seam with Aluminium bull nose verge flashings. The terrace areas consist of Insulated Sarnafil Single Ply Roofing. The development of this project can be seen on the current page of our website. FRS were selected as the roofing contractor for this project based upon its extensive experience in these fields and also their knowledge and proven track record of working in a harsh marine environment. |

| FRS Ltd were proud to become the new team sponsor of Eastbourne United Colts. The colts have had second hand kits since their inception and were delighted with their new kit which seems to be having an effect on the pitch with their performances as they have gone unbeaten in their opening two games. |

| FRS Ltd entered a team into Eastbourne's Annual 'Its A Knockout' competition on the western lawns. The fun filled event also has a serious side to it as all teams entering are hoping to raise in excess of £20,000.00 for the charity 'Challenging Childhood Cancer and Leukaemia'.
