Are you getting the most out of your conservatory?

Many people when thinking of extending the living space in their homes consider building a conservatory. This can be a worthwhile investment as extra rooms add value to a property and make it more attractive to potential buyers but how can you make sure that the conservatory space is useable all year round and not just in some months of the year?

The most important decision to make is what sort of heating and ventilation there is going to be as this can make a big difference to comfort levels. Opening roof lights are essential to keep the conservatory cool in the summer months and teamed with a ceiling fan will ensure a more comfortable temperature overall. These roof lights can be opened using a winder or be operated by a remote control. Window and roof blinds can be installed either manual or automatic again cutting down on the amount of heat inside the space.

Radiators are a good choice for heating the conservatory in the cooler months and can easily be linked to the heating system of the house however if this is not possible electric heaters can be used and are equally good if a bit more expensive to run.
